Selecting a senior living community is like buying a home. You can do it on your own – but should you?
You wouldn’t buy a house without understanding the neighborhood, calling an inspector and negotiating the contract. Making a care and living decision should be the same.
The reality is most people don’t know the differences between senior living options, the reliability of the companies who provide it, or how to evaluate care and quality. And the community where your friend’s mom lives may not be right for yours.
While almost every senior living community looks great online, there are real differences. Sarah can help you understand them – and save you time and reduce your stress.
-
Sarah, the owner, combines a compassionate heart with deep training and experience to offer committed, personal service to each family.
Unlike an online search engine, she listens carefully to your situation and helps you understand your choices. You’ll quickly rule out senior communities that don’t provide the right care for your situation, fit your budget or don’t make you feel at home. You can meet with Sarah in person, by phone or Zoom – it’s your choice! She finds solutions you might not think of because of her local expertise and boots-on-the-ground knowledge.
She will help you before, during, and after the move, answering your questions and filling in your knowledge gaps. And Sarah is specifically trained to manage the common issues for people aged 65 and older.

Because we work personally with each client, only recommend care providers that match your needs and help make moving in easier, senior living communities are happy to pay our fee.
-
No. When working with us, you’ll never pay more, and you may pay less. We help you understand senior living costs, compare your options, and get value for your dollar by letting you know about sales and pricing specials whenever possible.
-
Because she is compensated when a senior moves into a community, Sarah only accepts families who are committed to working with her. If you’re not getting what you want when you need it, just let her know. There is no binding contract.

Seniors and their families often call us just to get a sense of what senior living costs. In 2019, average monthly rates for assisted living in metro Atlanta were $3750, 7% lower than the national average. But averages are just part of the story.
Purchasing senior living is a little like shopping for a plane flight— rates vary based on location, occupancy, amount of care, time of year and other factors. Since each person is a little different, the costs are also different.
There are more choices for Atlanta seniors than ever. By comparing communities, prices and features with an expert instead of shopping alone, you’ll know you’ve made a smart decision.

Independent living, assisted living and memory care communities typically charge a one-time community fee when a resident moves in. Rent, meals, housecleaning, laundry, social activities, transportation, and other services are included in one monthly payment. Most assisted living communities also add a monthly care fee based on the amount of support each resident needs.
Sarah explains and compares your options so you know what you’re buying. And these rates and fees can often be negotiated.

Home care is a great option for many seniors – and we help you find care you can trust. Metro Atlanta residents can expect to pay around $25 an hour for home care from a licensed, reliable provider. Sometimes, home care isn’t enough: 24 / 7 care can become very expensive, and people become lonely without friends who share common interests. We help you decide what’s right for you now and in the future.

While we advise all families who call us, we are not the best resource for seniors who need financial support to cover the cost of care. Empowerline.org, (404) 463-3333, can help metro Atlanta residents apply for Medicaid and get care in a personal care home (PCH) or in long-term skilled nursing.
